This is a great product...Use a coffee mug warmer to heat the wax! November 14, 2008 I love this waxing product. In addition to all of the other reviews that included accolades for being the best for sensitive skin, I also have to say that it is tough enough to get the course chin hair I am cursed with. I ruined a pot by heating this up over the stove, but by picking up a $5 coffee mug warmer at a thrift shop, my life has gotten a lot easier. That little gadget does take awhile to melt the wax, but I just put it on and check it in 15 minutes. It also allows me to set up shop anywhere, including my bedroom, without having to run back to the kitchen to re-heat the wax. I have tried a million products, and this is the only one that works consistently for me.
This actually works!! August 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
POSITIVES: I have very blonde hair "peach fuzz" that seems to grow back quickly, but was hard to justify a trip to the salon for. I have tried a few "at home" waxing kits, and have found this to be the only one that does the trick. For years I have made monthly salon appointments to get my eyebrows, upper lip and chin waxed. However, since purchasing this kit (maybe 3-4 months ago), I haven't made a salon appointment yet! I have found that ripping the wax off myself hurts far less than having someone else to it. From what I understand from the "professionals," this hard wax (the wax that hardens to your hair follicles and does not require cloth strips) is much better for sensitive skin, and also allows you to "re-wax" over areas that may need a second run-through (which is not true of the "soft wax" that uses the cloth strips).
NEGATIVES: There are a few things I have had issues with, however. I tried waxing my legs and bikini line and found there isn't enough wax in one kit. (It would probably take two whole wax kits to do both legs). Since I have never paid to get my legs waxed in a salon, I cannot comment on how much money this would actually save... not to mention the fact you are DOING IT YOURSELF!! Also, running back and forth to the stove to "re-warm" the wax for these longer jobs is quite a pain (After about 4-5 trips back to the stove, I ended up "setting up shop" in the kitchen). Certainly not ideal! Therefore, I ended up purchasing an inexpensive "wax warmer" that works MUCH better. (To get the wax out of it's cup, I warmed it on the stove, and then poured into my "wax warmer").
OVERALL IMPRESSION Although I have found this kit to have it's flaws, I am now purchasing my THIRD, and have been raving about it to friends lately. It takes a while to get used to how long to let the wax dry (not too long, or it doesn't come off in on piece), how much wax to apply at once and how to become overall, more efficient with the whole process. All the same, I do recommend it!!
Bye to salons July 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This kit is absolutely fantastic. It was simple to use, smelled great, and best of all, left no rash or redness (all redness was gone within an hour). I have sensitive skin, and after a terrible experience with waxing at a salon, decided to give this kit a try. I will definitely buy it again. Hands down, the best wax I've ever had, made better by the fact that I did it myself while at home watching dvds.
Great for face and smaller areas May 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Having had a salon waxing for my eyebrows and legs before, I bought this product to try at home. The idea of not having to use the cloth strips was a deciding factor in my purchase. The product contains a sufficient amount of wax for probably 2 leg waxes depending on your hair type. If you only use it for facial hair it will last quite some time. I also purchased a melting pot to melt the wax in although my husband had to cut and grind the handle off of the wax cup to fit in the melter it was a quick procedure. The wax melts easily in the melter and has a nice fragrance. I had no problems doing my eybrows, chin and upper lip. I did find legs to be a little difficult only because it is hard to reach the backs of your legs with a plastic spatula with the wax about to drip off of it. Where I was able to apply the wax evenly to my legs it did remove all of the hair and remained smooth for about 2 weeks. I definately would purchase this product again.
Silky Smooth! March 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This wax smells great! So heating takes about 15 to 20 mins. The wait is worth it! I put a piece of paper towel in the bottom of my pot to prevent the heating cup from scratching or leaving wax residue on the bottom of my pot. I will never waste money at the salon for a bikini wax again. I won't do my eyebrows. I'm afraid I'll end up like that guy on the Domino's Pizza commercial.
