Great for people who are bad with eyeliner! September 23, 2008 As someone who likes natural looking makeup and has horrible fine motor skills (just stopped poking myself in the eye with the mascara brush recently), I'd given up on eyeliner. I'd tried all the supposedly easy to apply types - clinique quickliner, urban decay glide-on, sue devitt and so on - with no success (wouldn't glide, would end up an inch above my lashes, made my eyes water, etc.) Then I found the retro lounge kit and its magic magic brush...
Not only can I apply it, I can do so in about 10 seconds - just push the brush against the top outer corner of my eye, wiggle it, and repeat for one or two brush lengths worth of lashline (I just line the top outer corners for a very light look.) What makes it so easy is that:
1) you don't have to draw any lines - you're just repeatedly pressing the brush against adjoining parts of your lash line
2) because it's powder, it's easy to smudge or remove if you do mess up
(If you're getting lots of powder flakes on your cheeks, make sure to wipe the brush first on your hand/the lid to get rid of excess powder - you don't need very much at all.)
Good Stuff March 22, 2008 Being a 40yr veteran of eyeliner, both pencil & liquid (preferring liquid), I was very curious about this product. Since it's not as cheap as the others, I read all the reviews and decided to give it a try. Granted, I was a bit apprehensive about using a powder. Admittedly I was a bit worried when I actually looked at that pot of black power, but I remembered the reviews and made sure to tap off the excess. Let me tell you... never in my 40 years of eyeliner have I ever experienced such speed and accuracy. And as with the other Bare Minerals products, it feels like nothing at all! Like I said.... Good Stuff! PS If you're still worried about the price, split it with a friend or two and all of you can try it. I know at least one of you will love it.
don't get the point of this kind of liner March 18, 2008 i usually wear liquid liner for the "retro" look, i bought this coz of all the great reviews -- but i don't understand the point! the line you get is fuzzy and i ended up with black powder falling under my eyes so it looked like i had dark circles! I've gone back to my Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner, looks great, lasts, and doesn't smudge (very much) -- plus it's cheap!
Easy and gorgeous! November 18, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was really skeptical about using a powder liner because I have used pencils my entire life. But whenever I used pencil eyeliner my eyes would get irritated, so I decided to try something new. I've loved every Bare Escentuals product I've used and this one is no different! It's easy to use and looks amazing. The powder stays in place and the best part, it doesn't irritate my eyes. For those of you who have never used Bare Escentuals before I would recommend practicing. The powder can be messy if you aren't careful. When applying don't forget to tap the extra off of the brush, otherwise it will look like you have a black eye...and a little goes a very long way!
