Product Description Experience the thrill of captaining your own boat while searching for undersea riches in Deadliest Catch Alaskan Storm for the Xbox 360. Battle 40-foot waves, storms, ice and a nearly 100-percent crewmember injury rate on the icy Bering Sea. Select one of 5 real crab boats featured on the Discovery Channel series, or create and customize your own boat. Then choose your own crew from a roster of 20 real crab fishermen. Selecting the wrong boat or crew member can lead to disaster. Lead your fatigued, hungry and hardworking crew in the search for King Crab and Opilio Crab, while battling to secure your catch before other crews get there first. Realism is added with 4 real Bering Sea harbors and 34,000 miles of real Bering Sea coastline created from the United States Geological Survey. Weather and fishing conditions are based on authentic weather data and get worse each season. The ultimate goal is to return safely each season, upgrade your boat and crew, and attempt to break the real-life Captain Sig Hansen's actual lifetime catch of twenty million pounds.

realistic action January 6, 2009 My daughter and I got this game for her dad. He is a commercial fisherman, including Dung. crabs on the Oregon coast.. He is hooked on this game. It helps having somewhat of an idea about crabbing and how the gear works and how to run a boat. It is an awesome game, but with only one drawback so far that we can tell....You cant read anything that is on the screen unless you squint real hard. The font is way to small. When you hire your crew, you cant read anything it says about them or even what the green bars say about their strenghths, weakness, etc. Overall it is a good game. The mini- missions are great trying to beat Capt. Phill to crab pots..By the way, Capt. Phill came to our town of Brookings, Oregon a coulple of weeks ago, promoting the new Deadliest Brew coffee...great coffee and a really down to earth nice guy.....

Wow..all the points I wanted to make except one have been covered so I won't restate them...the one I do want to say is:
DO NOT get this game if you have a regualar TV, they must have only tested it on a HDTV because you can't even read the numbers or text on a regular TV.
Fun, but not a favorate July 14, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The game is fun to play if you are a fan of the show. However, there are some things in need of improvement.
I like the season simulation. It's fun to make our way to your pots and pick your locations. Dealing with weather, injuries, and equipment malfunctions can be fun.
Don't try to play this game on a small television. A lot of the fonts used are too small to read and are blurry even on my HD TV. Some of the controls are hard to use. Setting the engine to a slow speed/low RPM can be frustrating as well. The engine tends to just go to stop rather than let you run at a low speed.
Deadliest Catch! Whata catch! July 13, 2008 1 out of 6 found this review helpful
The game arrived only one day after release date! Game looks great on a big screen! Product was brand new, and cheaper than buying at the store. Thanx. pleasure doin bussiness with ya!
If you're a fan of the show and always wanted to play a game of it, this is your chance! July 7, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Look, I'll be honest. This isn't the most graphically advanced game in the world (in fact, it's been likened to that of a PS2 game) and it's not the most action packed.
BUT, if you would like to play a game that's accurate to the Discovery Channel show and the lives of the men who are on it then this is the game for you! :)
Sure, the game play is slow and it takes a long time to finish a season, but guess what, so does the real thing. This is more of a simulator like The Sims where the game play is slow but it's the simulation that makes it fun. If you're looking for action packed high seas adventure, you might want to just pick up a copy of Pirates of the Caribbean on DVD.
The IGN review said it best in that it is what it is. This is the best Crab Fishing game available and is true to the show and the crab fishing industry.
Overall, as a fan of the show and a gamer, I've enjoyed the game a lot! If you're going to buy this game, just don't expect it to be something it's not.
