Fiddler in the Club January 3, 2009 "Paralyzer" is an odd song. It's the usual fake alternative rock/emo one can expect on Top 40 radio these days. It's sung from the perspective of a buzzed guy in a club ogling a hot girl, wondering if he can "make her move." It's incredibly whiny. The odd part? It's got a rhythm similar to klezmer. It almost sounds like something from Fiddler on the Roof. That is,if Tevye were a single hitting the Moscow clubs. Finger Eleven,as usual,is overrated and annoying. This song will leave you paralyzed in its badness like the poor girl in "Brimstone and Treacle."
Love this song! December 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've loved this song since I first heard it on the radio. Naturally, I just had to buy the MP3 too! Great addition to anyone's MP3 player!
A Dark "Take Me Out" March 8, 2008 8 out of 18 found this review helpful
This slow hit has taken the music world by storm, and six months after it hit radio, it still won't leave us. The song's verses are sub-par to say the least, but the chorus hooks you into the song, making it at least a radio hit. The song also barrows the same riffs and hooks as "Take Me Out" by Franz Ferdinad, which is by far a better song. The song also has more of a dark mood, with the half-angry vocals.
Overall, an overrated, unoriginal song, that does just enough to pass off it's flaws. Check out "Take Me Out" instead, it's ten times as good.
