Excellent collection from ECM. Thanks AMZN *and* ECM for making this available, especially at 256kb. Whets my appetite to go out and actually buy one or more of the CDs. Amazon might need to actively monitor listeners' opinions so as to limit comments to the actual music. While ideally, everyone, regardless of where they live should be able to download this, there might be legal issues that might restrict free distribution outside the US. Perhaps the problem is actually a technical one beyond AMZN's control. Maybe y'all should contact the AMZN help desk for resolution. We hope you can eventually download this freebie and we welcome your sincere and thoughtful comments. Happy listening.

I love the artists on here & would love to download it. I can download songs outside of an album, but not an album. Every time I try, Amazon tells me to download their MP3 device. I keep doing that, but then cannot download the album. Can anyone help? Thanks.
Prog Rock Crossover October 25, 2008

In the 70's Prog Rock ruled my world. I knew a little jazz, but it was Chick Corea's album "Return to Forever," and the Burton/Corea "Crystal Silence" that hooked me. ECM has been the the sonics label: crystal clear production, spacious soundstage.
This sampler gives a variety of what ECM has to offer, requiring the listener to listen. Not because it is head music, but to find the pulse of the musician.
You can't beat the price! Metheny's "American Garage" definitely rocks, while Gary Burton (with a young Metheny) truly evokes "Dreams So Real."
This is another fine compilation to explore.

I am not a real jazz fan, but I really enjoyed all the songs on this download. I had them on as background music while cooking. Very relaxing.
