 Classic music that'll get you groovin'. January 4, 2009
You know all that swanky music they use in heist movies like 'Snatch' and 'Ocean's 11'? This is a mix of that music. I love music like that so much, but because it's not really 'mainsteam', it's hard to follow an artist or purchase music. They're not really out there.
That's why this sampler is so awesome. You get a little nibble of artists from the genre and it's currently free. So hey. What do you have to lose?

More labels should release samples. I would never have found Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings. I love Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, I am buying there music now.

This is a great find and you can't beat the price. Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings and this sampler has 3 of their songs. I'm hooked and had to get all 3 of their albums. Nice to discover something fresh, hot and bad. Thank you Amazon.

If you like the early RnB/soul sounds, you will like this album. A lot! I can imagine this is where artists like Amy Winehouse and Duffy seek inspiration.

I just love the brass and rythym of the tracks on this compilation. I downloaded the MP3 version as a bit of a lark when it was on special price. I've listened a couple of times now and I've found myself tapping my toes to the beat each time. I'm no R&B expert by any means but I like the sound of these artists.
