It would be an OK song if not for the first 30 seconds, which sounds like a mistake overdub from another song ... a really bad other song. Once the song starts, it's OK, but it's painful until then.

What a voice, what an arrangement! Beautiful, yes, but emotionally so powerful it gives me goosebumps. This is one of my favorite songs of all time.
